At Next Level Ed Prep, we believe that successful teaching changes habits and ultimately improves one's quality of life. With today’s technology, students’ physical locations no longer pose a problem, as we can utilize face-to-face communication technology to meet and the student still receives the benefits as if we were in the same room. Shenita Baltimore is a former transformational classroom leader and lifelong educator. She's a Princeton University Alumna with 2500+ test prep teaching hours who earned her MA in Secondary Education while closing the achievement gap in her Delaware middle school math classrooms before leaving the classroom and balancing her private tutoring service business with her life as a Marketing Executive. Since then, she has worked with clients of all ages in order to help them discover their full potential in the classroom and on ACTs, SATs, HSPTs, and GREs, all with a patience and self-encouragement approach. Through her unique and personalized approach, students are able to master learning strategies and build skills that last beyond any one test. "I write to recommend the tutoring services of Shenita Baltimore. I recommend Shenita on the basis of 3 qualities:
1. Teacher: if the student does not know the material, Shenita teaches it to the student. There is no judgement so the student feels free to tell Shenita that she does not understand the material. Additionally, Shenita is good at intuiting that the student does not know the material. This is key as its hard to know what you don't know!
2. Tutor: Shenita knows the test. Whereas most college prep services can offer "the tricks," Shenita knows what knowledge the testers are testing for. She directs students to read the questions, passages, etc. with the appropriate orientation, per subject. Additionally, as a tutor, Shenita is all business. She moves the student along, stopping where necessary, but not lingering or wasting any time.
3. She knows kids: In her business like way, Shenita told my daughter she was confident that she could score well into the 30s on her ACT. Our daughter had a large leap to make, which she did. I believe that with the college prep tests, confidence made a big difference with our daughter. That was necessary for this kid. Shenita knew that.
Hopefully Shenita will still be tutoring when our younger daughter is ready prepare for the college tests."
